CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Corpus Christi, TX seeks an Environmental Engineer-Waste to support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. The role involves engineering analyses, evaluating environmental impacts, and delivering solutions for safe, efficient, and responsible operations.

Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, remediation strategy development, and pollution prevention programs, with a focus on reducing emissions, waste, and resource use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree required.
• Two or more years of related experience in petroleum refining, chemical manufacturing, or environmental consulting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental assessments to identify potential environmental impacts of operations, products or services.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permits.
• Develop and implement strategies for remediation of contaminated sites, ensuring safe cleanup technologies.
• Design and implement sustainability programs to reduce carbon footprint, waste generation, and resource use.
• Monitor air quality and water parameters, assess impacts, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee waste management practices including recycling and hazardous waste disposal.
• Prepare EIAs for new projects and propose mitigation measures.
• Lead environmental projects from inception to completion coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and regulators.
• Analyze environmental data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments to evaluate environmental hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
