Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support compliance and sustainability initiatives across our operations. You will analyze environmental data, develop pollution prevention strategies, and ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering) or other related engineering degree required.
• Two or more years of related experience in petroleum refining, chemical manufacturing, or environmental consulting.
• Experience in waste and remediation compliance; basic understanding of environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations (CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage project risks by following risk management procedures.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC).

Responsibilities

• Environmental Assessments: identify potential environmental impacts of operations, products, or services.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permits.
• Environmental Remediation: develop strategies for remediation of contaminated sites.
• Sustainability Initiatives: design programs to reduce carbon footprint and resource use.
• Air Quality and Water Management: monitor and manage air and water parameters; implement actions.
• Waste management: oversee waste management and hazardous waste disposal.
• EIAs: prepare environmental impact assessments for new projects and mitigation measures.
• Project Management: lead projects from inception to completion with internal teams and regulators.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: analyze data and prepare technical reports for stakeholders.
• Risk Assessment: evaluate environmental hazards and develop mitigation strategies to protect health and environment.
