Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Manager, Environmental Construction to oversee day-to-day construction management for solar, wind and storage projects, ensuring environmental compliance from site to completion.

This remote role requires travel up to 70%. The position collaborates with field teams, EPC contractors, and the Environmental department to deliver on schedule, on budget, and in full regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in environmental construction/construction management in wind/solar; SWPPP and biological clearance oversight.
• 2+ years managing environmental compliance scope or programs, including vendor/contractor coordination.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of renewable energy construction practices and SWPPP/biological clearance requirements.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, SPCC).
• Hazardous and non-hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal knowledge.
• Strong communication, organizational, scheduling, and budgeting skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities across solar, wind, and storage projects to meet schedule, budget, and quality goals.
• Serve as liaison between field teams and Environmental department ensuring permit conditions and plans are followed on site.
• Oversee EPC contractors and subcontractors; monitor performance, schedules, and quality control.
• Lead pre-construction reviews of environmental permits, SWPPP requirements, and biological surveys.
• Coordinate resolution of environmental issues (stormwater, spills, habitat protection) with the Environmental team.
• Conduct regular field inspections of progress and compliance; recommend corrective actions.
• Manage external consultants and contractors; track budgets and deliverables.
• Track progress, budget variances, and environmental compliance to management.
• Enforce corporate construction and environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
