UTHealth Houston Revenue Cycle is seeking a Financial Clearance Specialist I, an entry-level role that helps verify insurance coverage and prepare accounts for financial clearance. This remote position requires residency in Texas and occasional onsite training at 1851 Crosspoint Ave, 77054.

Under close supervision, you will confirm patient insurance information, communicate with patients and providers, and support the revenue cycle with accurate data entry and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Excellent communication and data-entry skills.
• Ability to work remotely with occasional onsite meetings in Texas.

• Verify basic insurance eligibility and policy status using electronic verification tools and payor portals.
• Confirm patient demographics and insurance information with accuracy and document outcomes.
• Communicate with patients, insurers, and internal departments to clarify details.
• Escalate complex coverage questions to senior staff when needed.
• Identify when prior authorization may be required and notify appropriate staff.
• Adhere to HIPAA and data confidentiality; perform other duties as assigned.
