Job summary

NEOGOV, Inc. is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Senior Architect to unify our multi‑product SaaS platform. You will design scalable, cloud‑native architectures and collaborate with engineering, product, data, and AI teams to enable data interoperability and AI enablement.

You will guide modernization efforts, establish architectural standards, and mentor teams while ensuring security, reliability, and delivery velocity across our public sector solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software‑engineering experience, including 5+ years in a Senior or Lead Architect role within a SaaS environment.
• Proven success designing enterprise‑scale, cloud‑native architectures using .NET Core/C# and Java ecosystems.
• Strong experience with Angular front‑end frameworks and RESTful API or GraphQL integration design.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, with data modeling and performance optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Familiarity with AI/ML services, data pipelines, and modern analytics platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Experience leading architecture modernization, microservices adoption, and cross‑product integration initiatives.
• Strong communication and influencing skills to align executives and technical teams around a cohesive architectural vision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the multi‑year platform architecture roadmap with engineering and product leadership.
• Design and document scalable, modular, cloud‑native architecture supporting shared services and data models.
• Serve as architectural owner for data model consolidation, SSO, onboarding, and admin across products.
• Partner with Data and AI teams to align architecture with analytics and AI frameworks.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership: review designs, build reference implementations, mentor teams in modern architecture and DevOps.
• Establish and govern architecture principles, standards, and reusable patterns across APIs, event systems, data flows, and security.
• Drive modernization toward containerized, IaC‑managed, service‑oriented architectures.
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure scalable CI/CD, observability, and environment automation.
• Evaluate tools and cloud solutions for maintainability, performance, and cost efficiency.
