Job summary

North, a US-based payments company, seeks an Enterprise Merchant Underwriter (Portfolio Management) to perform periodic reviews of high-exposure merchant relationships and provide written recommendations to management.

You will analyze financial data, collaborate with sales partners and merchants, and develop risk mitigations, while training teammates and ensuring service levels amid a dynamic payments landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
• Minimum 2 Years of Financial Analysis experience in the Payments industry or similar financial services field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial underwriting environment or analyzing financial data.
• Minimum 2 years of Sales Relationship management experience highly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic credit reviews within an assigned portfolio with narrative, data-driven recommendations.
• Prepare Credit Risk Assessments with detailed recommendations and risk mitigation strategies.
• Analyze high exposure merchants to assess risk across diverse business types and processing environments.
• Communicate with merchants, sales representatives, internal departments, and management to obtain required information.
• Provide Approval Authority support and assist in training underwriting team members.
