University of Maine System is seeking an experienced technology leader to guide our enterprise Data Engineering & Analytics team, shaping the data platform across Maine's public universities and supporting student success, planning, and decision-making.

This remote, US-based role emphasizes building high-performing teams, modernizing data platforms, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver scalable, governance-focused data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Data Eng or related field with substantial enterprise data experience.
• Master's degree in related field with 5+ years in enterprise data leadership.
• Experience supervising technical staff in enterprise data environments.
• Experience overseeing enterprise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing technical team.
• Guide the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise data engineering and analytics services.
• Partner with academic and administrative leaders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Oversee enterprise data pipelines, integration services, analytics platforms, and governance practices.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and other IT leaders to advance enterprise technology initiatives.
• Promote modern engineering practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
