Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Building Automation Systems Specialist to serve as the enterprise BAS SME across a large federal portfolio. You will lead technical efforts, oversee modernization, and coordinate with program managers, facility managers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure reliable, energy-efficient building operations.

The role covers lifecycle design reviews, installation, commissioning, cybersecurity, and continuous optimization of BAS across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience with commercial or federal Building Automation Systems.
• Experience supporting large, multi-site facilities O&M or mission-critical environments.
• Certifications in Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, or Automated Logic offered.
• Certified Automation Professional (CAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the enterprise BAS SME supporting multiple federal facilities and O&M programs.
• Establish enterprise standards, best practices, and governance for BAS operations, maintenance, lifecycle management, and modernization.
• Provide technical consultation to Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and facility operations teams.
• Support operation and maintenance of BAS platforms (HVAC, metering, energy management, etc.).
• Review designs, control sequences, architectures, and submittals for projects.
• Evaluate interoperability with BAS and other building systems.
• Support migration from legacy control systems to open architecture platforms.
• Develop testing procedures and verify performance against design intent.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; develop standards and training materials.
