Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead strategy and governance of enterprise infrastructure across large IT environments. You will define current, transition, and future-state architectures, guiding modernization efforts and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

The role requires 16–20 years in enterprise infrastructure or similar, with cloud, data center, storage, and security expertise. Remote USA work is supported with strong leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
• 16–20 years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture or related fields
• Experience designing and governing large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
• Strong expertise in data center technologies, databases, storage, backup/recovery
• Proven experience developing enterprise architecture frameworks and roadmaps
• Understanding of security, compliance, risk, and disaster recovery principles
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and vendor solutions
• Ability to lead cross-functional architecture discussions

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain current-state, transition-state, and target-state architectures
• Govern architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps
• Lead assessments for infrastructure transformation, cloud adoption, modernization, and migration
• Provide architectural recommendations considering scalability, performance, cost, and reliability
• Ensure designs meet resilience, DR, continuity, capacity planning, and cybersecurity standards
• Provide senior-level leadership during complex incidents and major upgrades
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architecture alignment and governance
• Create and maintain architecture documentation and decision records
• Identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and continuous improvement
• Promote architecture best practices across the organization
