Job summary

Actuaries Unlimited (AUI) is seeking an experienced Enrolled Actuary with Defined Benefit and Cash Balance expertise, primarily serving small business clients. The role involves delivering actuarial and consulting services, including compliance testing, government reporting, and plan design guidance.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and ongoing plan optimization in a fully remote U.S.-based setup.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of retirement plan experience focusing on DB and/or cash balance.
• Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation required.
• Strong knowledge of nondiscrimination testing and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Defined Benefit/Cash Balance valuations and PBGC filings.
• Familiarity with advanced cross-testing concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with Relius, FT William, or similar administration systems.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and communicate DB and Cash Balance results to clients and actuaries.
• Prepare and file PBGC reports for applicable DB plans.
• Stay current on retirement industry trends and legislative changes.
• Review plan documents and amendments.
• Advise clients on plan design strategies and contribution structures.
• Review 401(k) valuations, trust accounting, and government reporting.
• Perform nondiscrimination testing and analyses.
• Support valuations, AFTAP certifications, and Schedule B filings.
• Calculate participant benefits and provide ongoing client support.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure accurate plan administration.
