Job summary

EPE Consulting, Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Transmission Planning Utilities Team. You will work with senior leadership to support growth and provide subject matter expertise, with opportunities for professional growth and a competitive compensation package.

You will lead technical and leadership duties, guiding generator interconnection and planning studies, collaborating with clients and regulatory bodies, and mentoring staff while staying abreast of market innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 8–10 years in electric energy, generator modelling, transmission planning, interconnection studies.
• Strong background in power flow, OPF, transient stability.
• Familiar with PSSE, TARA, PSLF, ASPEN, DSATools, PSCAD.
• Automation experience (Python, C#, SQL) valued.
• Analytical, with strong communication and tech expertise.

Responsibilities

• Deliver generator interconnection and planning studies across ISO/RTOs or utilities.
• Provide technical insights on complex industry initiatives.
• Lead transmission planning studies with load flow, transient stability, short circuit.
• Identify optimal grid interconnection strategy based on impacts.
• Mentor junior team members and support business development.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies.
