Job summary

EPE Consulting, Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Transmission Planning Utilities team. You will work with senior leadership to support growth and provide SME guidance on transmission planning studies, including load flow, stability, and interconnections.

Lead a team of engineers, collaborate across ISO/RTO projects, mentor staff, and help shape market-ready strategies while ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction. Remote US options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8–10 years in electric energy, generator modelling and interconnection studies.
• Strong background in power flow and transient stability.
• Experience with PSSE, TARA, PSLF, ASPEN, DSATools, PSCAD.
• Automation experience with Python, C#, SQL is a plus.
• Analytical problem-solving, communication and tech expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead generator interconnection and planning studies across ISO/RTOs and utilities.
• Provide technical insights for complex initiatives and policy-driving projects.
• Serve as SME on transmission planning studies (load flow, stability, short circuit).
• Advise on software strategy and IP development; mentor junior team members.
• Prepare scope of work and estimates for new projects; participate in RFPs.
• Ensure staffing, quality, and timely completion within budget.
