Figma is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Payload team to lead the open-source CMS and platform evolution, guiding technical investments and developer-facing APIs. You will work with founders and core contributors to scale the team, grow the community, and align with product strategy across Payload and Figma’s offerings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams within a technical product company.
• Strong technical background building modern web applications and platforms using Node.js, TypeScript, React, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
• Experience building or leading teams responsible for developer platforms or extensible software systems.
• Excellent product and technical judgment, with experience shaping developer-facing APIs and collaborating closely with design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Payload engineering team and set technical direction.
• Develop and execute a strategy to leverage Payload to accelerate Figma’s offerings.
• Engage with open-source contributors and enterprise customers to translate insights into priorities.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to ensure cohesive product experiences and strong abstractions.
• Grow and mentor engineers, fostering ownership and technical excellence.
• Align Payload priorities with product leadership and roadmap execution.
