Job summary

E Tech Group is seeking an Engineering Manager I to lead a team of 8–10 engineers across multiple projects, primarily in the Food & Beverage sector. This is a remote role with 30% travel, focusing on delivering control system solutions on time and within budget.

You will guide technical direction, develop PLC and HMI programs, review designs, and mentor staff while maintaining high utilization and strong collaboration with sales and project management.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years in industrial automation / controls integration
• 3+ years leading and managing a team
• Knowledge of standard engineering practices and procedures
• Ability to travel up to 30%
• Collaborative mindset and core values alignment

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance, leadership, and quality control for a team of engineers across multiple projects
• Design control system networks and panels; develop PLC and HMI code
• Develop controls documentation (IO list, device list, scope of work, conduit schedules, FAT/SAT plans)
• Lead major project milestones and design/development reviews; on-site support
• Manage workload distribution, forecast labor needs, and communicate risks to leadership
• Support project planning across all phases: kickoff, requirements, design, development, testing, commissioning
