Job summary

E Tech Group is seeking a Senior Principal Controls Engineer to lead advanced automation and control system integration projects. You will design, review, and implement solutions across PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, and networks, mentoring engineers and supporting business development.

You will guide technical design, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with standards while traveling domestically as needed. A 2-hour commute to Plano, TX is required for this remote role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in automation or controls.
• Deep expertise in major automation platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider).
• Strong knowledge of industrial networks, protocols, and system architecture.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-discipline integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical design and architecture of automation and control solutions.
• Serve as SME across Building Design, Panel Design, Instrumentation, PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, Historians, Networks, and VFDs.
• Provide hands-on engineering support for design, programming, testing, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope, requirements, and resources.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Conduct design reviews and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Support proposal development with technical input and risk assessments.
• Act as liaison with customers to clarify requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance integration capabilities.
• Contribute to engineering standards across the organization.
• Be an ambassador of Core Values and team development.
