Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Application Security Engineering team. You will lead security strategy, automate controls, and ensure secure software across cloud-based SaaS environments. This remote role supports UK, Spain, and Ireland with strong leadership and cross-team collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in security program maturity, automation-driven security, and excellent communication skills to guide squads and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Prior experience running a security engineering team.
• Strong engineering background and ability to engage in technical conversations.
• Comfortable working with autonomous engineering teams.
• Up-to-date with latest technical trends and security challenges.
• Approach security with DevOps mindset: enablement, automation, guardrails.
• Familiarity with securing public Cloud providers and Kubernetes, OSS/SaaS security.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; translate security to business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead our application security team across app security, cloud security, and internal tooling.
• Oversee 1st and 3rd party vulnerability management and embargoed fixes.
• Define and implement engineering strategy with security leadership and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, coaching, and feedback to keep team motivated and high-performing.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to influence product strategy, roadmaps, and designs.
• Be actively engaged in significant incidents including preparedness, response, and customer communications.
• Review design documents for upcoming projects and break down work into tasks.
