Grafana Labs is seeking an engineering manager to lead our application security engineering team in a fully remote role. You will drive security strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leaders to strengthen our security posture across SaaS platforms.

The role emphasizes automation, threat modeling, and secure design reviews in a cloud-native environment. Strong communication skills are essential for cross-functional work and external coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security engineering teams.
• Strong engineering background and ability to discuss technical decisions.
• Comfortable with autonomous engineering teams and DevOps mindset.
• Keeps up-to-date with security trends and shifts.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiar with securing public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and OSS/SaaS products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the application security team across security domains.
• Manage 1st and 3rd party vulnerability processes and disclosures.
• Define and execute the security engineering strategy with leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide coaching and feedback to team members.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to shape product roadmaps and designs.
• Engage in incident response planning and customer communications.
• Review designs and break down projects into actionable tasks.
