Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking an experienced Application Engineer, Energy, Utilities & Digital Grid Solutions, to act as a technical subject matter expert supporting our electric utilities and energy infrastructure portfolio.

You will collaborate with Account Managers, Solution Engineers, and Product Management to demonstrate value, guide evaluations, and help modernize planning, design, and operation of critical energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electric utilities, power generation, renewable energy, transmission and distribution, substation engineering, or related fields.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Experience working directly with users, engineering teams, or customers.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support sales pursuits through technical discovery, solution alignment, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Participate in customer meetings to understand business challenges and technical requirements.
• Translate industry challenges into solution-based recommendations.
• Collaborate with Solution Engineers and Account Managers on opportunities.
• Deliver presentations to technical and executive audiences.
• Assist with proposals, technical evaluations, and competitive positioning.
• Develop expertise across Bentley’s energy portfolio including electrical network analysis and substation design.
• Advise users and project teams throughout evaluation and adoption activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and asset outcomes.
• Capture feedback and communicate product requirements to Product Management.
