The ideal candidate has a quantitative background, 3+ years in energy trading or market analysis, and proficiency in Python/R/SQL. You will work across time zones, leverage advanced analytics, and contribute to trading
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in energy trading, market analysis, or quantitative finance.
- Strong understanding of energy commodity markets (power, gas, oil, carbon).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and programming (Python, R, SQL).
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of energy market data, including price movements, supply/demand dynamics, and geopolitical events.
- Develop and refine quantitative trading models and algorithms to identify market opportunities.
- Monitor global energy markets and provide timely insights and recommendations to the trading team.
- Execute trades based on approved strategies, managing risk effectively.
- Collaborate remotely with traders, risk managers, and other analysts to share market intelligence.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on market analysis, trading performance, and strategy effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in energy trading.
- Utilize advanced data visualization tools to present complex market information clearly.
- Maintain and improve trading systems and analytical tools.
