Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Project Engineer- Energy Storage to support the preconstruction team in delivering profitable, on-schedule energy storage projects.

You will coordinate design deliverables, manage RFIs and submittals, and assist in BOM finalization and project documentation. The role emphasizes working closely with the project engineering team, internal and external engineers, and operations to ensure constructability and alignment with scope, schedule milestones,

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Energy Storage construction or design experience.
• Construction internship experience preferred.
• Energy Storage field experience a plus.
• Basic understanding of construction cost accounting.
• Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Effective written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to use independent judgment; self-starting.
• Drafting and advanced computer skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Closely work with Precon PM, Internal and external engineering team to support project delivery.
• Maintain project documentation and systems including drawings, RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, cost tracking, quality documentation, and CMiC records.
• Support subcontractor coordination, safety planning, and general project engineering functions with engineering and Operations.
• Assist transition from preconstruction to construction by coordinating project documentation, scope definition, LNTP development, and operational readiness.
• Provide general project engineering support including meeting coordination, document management, cost reporting, subcontractor interface.
• Collaborate with engineering, estimating, procurement and operations to validate design assumptions, equipment lead times, installation strategies, and project logistics; identify constructability, cost, and schedule risks.
• Assist development and review of EPC project execution plans, including constructability reviews, site logistics, and construction sequencing.
• Participate in technical review of EPC contract documents, project specs, bid packages, and subcontractor proposals for completeness and alignment.
