Job summary

Leidos is seeking an energy market analyst to develop asset and portfolio market projections and to draft consulting products for utilities, energy developers, financial institutions, and energy service companies. You will conduct market research and model power generation assets using Leidos and licensed tools.

The role requires a Finance/Economics/Math background with 8–12 years of experience in North American energy consulting, plus strong Excel, writing, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics/Statistics, or related field with eight to 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with six to 10 years of prior relevant experience, primarily in economic consulting within or related to the North American energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of the major US regional power markets.
• Proficiency with Aurora, ProMod, or other similar utility/market simulation models.
• Expertise with Excel for ad hoc data analysis required.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, with strong analytical, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully meet deadlines across concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of asset and portfolio market projections and valuation, and drafting consulting work products including Market Consultant’s Reports for varied clients such as utilities, energy development companies, financial institutions, and energy service companies.
• Conduct market research and analysis independently and in collaboration with colleagues and managers, including modeling the operation of power generation assets and portfolios using proprietary Leidos tools and simulation models as well as licensed software tools and databases.
• Initiate and contribute to new approaches to evaluating emerging issues relevant to the North American energy sector to support client needs and internal development.
