Job summary

Energy Sciences seeks an energy engineer to help commercial and industrial clients reduce energy use through efficiency programs, assessments, and direct-to-customer services. You will analyze opportunities, review calculations, and prepare client-ready reports and presentations.

This is a home-based role with travel to the Greater Philadelphia area up to 25%. Requirements include a mechanical engineering degree, relevant certifications, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of energy assessments and commissioning experience.
• Certifications: CEM, CEA, CMVP, EBCP, and PE.
• Two years of experience in utility energy efficiency programs, retro-commissioning, and HVAC systems.
• ASHRAE level I, II, III energy auditing experience.
• Energy and economic analyses using trending, weather data, and regression.
• Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, pumps, chillers, and process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and quantify energy efficiency opportunities and perform energy/economic analyses.
• Review energy assessments, opportunities and calculations.
• Collaborate with customers and develop projects.
• Prepare reports and deliver presentations.
• Conduct site surveys and facilities assessments.
• Collaborate with technical team to teach energy engineering fundamentals.
• Support customers with utility energy efficiency programs.
