Job summary

CareerNerds is seeking an Associate Attorney / Of Counsel to join its Employment Litigation Practice Group, fully remote. The candidate will defend employers in diverse employment matters, manage case strategy, pleadings, discovery, and trial prep, and collaborate with attorneys across offices.

Requirements include JD from a top-tier law school, California Bar admission in good standing, 4 years of CA employment litigation experience (9 years for Of Counsel), and strong advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 4 years of substantive California employment litigation experience (Associate level).
• Of Counsel requires 9 years of relevant California employment litigation experience and first-chair capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Represent employers before state and federal administrative agencies.
• Advise and counsel employers on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and related claims.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to provide strategic legal counsel.
