Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking an Associate Attorney or Of Counsel for its Employment Litigation Practice Group. This fully remote role requires California bar admission and involves handling sophisticated employment matters for employers nationwide.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California in good standing.
• 4+ years of substantive California employment litigation experience.
• Of Counsel candidates: 9+ years of relevant CA employment litigation experience and first-chair capabilities.
• Experience defending employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour and related claims.
• Experience representing employers in court, arbitrations, mediations and administrative matters.
• Class Action and/or PAGA experience preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and procedures.
• Ability to independently manage litigation from inception through resolution.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle litigation from strategy through pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations/arbitrations, to trial prep.
• Represent employers before state and federal administrative agencies.
• Advise employers on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour disputes, torts and contract claims; class actions/passive actions.
