Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Employment Litigation Practice Group in a fully remote role. You will handle sophisticated employment matters for employers across industries with significant responsibility and client interaction.

Qualifications include a JD from a top-tier law school, active California Bar admission, and 4+ years of California employment litigation experience for Associate level; 9+ years for Of Counsel with first-chair capabilities.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 4+ years of substantive California employment litigation experience (Associate level).
• Attorneys seeking Of Counsel consideration should possess 9+ years of relevant California employment litigation experience and demonstrated first-chair litigation capabilities.
• Experience defending employers in employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and related workplace claims.
• Experience representing employers in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative agency matters.
• Class Action and/or PAGA experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Represent employers before state and federal administrative agencies.
• Advise and counsel employers on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, employment torts, contract claims, non-compete issues, and class or representative actions.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice areas to provide strategic, business-oriented legal counsel to clients.
