Job summary

Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. is seeking a Technical Leader I - EMF Engineer to advance EMF/RF research for electric transmission and distribution systems.

You will conduct modeling, measurements, and data analysis, and develop practical guidance for utilities and stakeholders. Role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, plus the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to technical reports and research products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering, physics, applied electromagnetics, or closely related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in EMF engineering, high-voltage engineering, or electric power engineering.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with EMF/RF modeling and measurements is preferred.
• Ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical research and analysis on EMF and RF exposure related to power systems.
• Perform EMF calculations, modeling, measurements, and data interpretation.
• Develop and validate EMF/RF assessment tools and guidance documents.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and conference papers communicating findings.
• Collaborate with utilities, academia, and vendors to advance EMF research.
