Qualifications

• HighSchool Diploma/GED required.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentialing (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC) maintained annually.
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, facility charging, and modifiers experience.
• 2+ years of Emergency Room coding experience.
• Intermediate Excel and EMR systems experience; strong attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility services per guidelines.
• Adhere to coding ethical standards per AAPC/AHIMA.
• Maintain performance in coding quality and productivity per Optum.
• Understand APC codes and Medicare policies (NCCI, LCD/NCD).
• Query physicians when needed; participate in meetings and training.
