Job summary

ITW in Dover, DE is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support embedded software for mill products and new hardware bring-up, with close hardware integration.

You will work across specs, perform debugging on microcontrollers, interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and Ethernet, and contribute to reliability testing. Travel to ITW facilities, including quarterly trips to Fairmont, MN, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years embedded software experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Git.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or MQX.
• Strong hardware/software integration skills.
• Ability to work independently across development phases.
• Experience with board bring-up and debugging prototype hardware.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel quarterly to Fairmont, MN.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support embedded software for hardware bring-up and product lines.
• Modify software for customer configurations and perform integration testing.
• Develop low-level drivers and BSPs for interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet).
• Validate software versions with hardware and perform regression testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document analyses and designs.
• Provide technical input on schedules, estimates, and plans.
