Job summary

The Department of Health and Human Services (DRVS) in Augusta, Maine, seeks a proactive Vital Records Representative to handle front desk duties, file and route requests, and manage vital records data entry with accuracy and discretion.

Qualifications

• Minimal training/experience in office settings; ability to use standard office software.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required for handling inquiries and records.
• Ability to read Maine statutes, rules, and regulations related to vital records is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate registration of records with accurate data.
• Greet clients and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Process vital records applications and collect fees as required.
• Update and maintain electronic registration systems and files.
• Assist with genealogy requests and correspondence.
