Job summary

Apex Structural Engineering, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking an Associate Project Manager who blends structural engineering expertise with growing project management responsibilities.

You will guide technical direction while coordinating scope, schedule, staffing, and finances for projects. The role links project leadership, engineering staff, BIM/modeling, and clients, supporting both smaller assignments and larger endeavors with oversight from senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering required.
• PE and/or SE licensure preferred; SE licensure may be required by project type.
• Typically five or more years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Manage smaller or less-complex structural projects under supervision, including coordination and deliverables.
• Support planning, coordination, and execution of larger projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design while balancing project management duties.
• Coordinate activities and priorities with engineering and BIM/modeling teams.
• Review calculations, models, drawings for technical accuracy and conformance with standards.
• Communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve issues.
• Assist with developing work plans, schedules, and staffing for projects.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and BIM staff.
• Participate in QA/QC processes and uphold engineering standards.
