Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Senior Mission Concept Engineer to shape lunar technologies for NASA and commercial customers. You will define end-to-end mission concepts and drive architectures for future landers, surface systems, and spacecraft.

The role is based in Pittsburgh and can be onsite or remote, with opportunities to influence strategy, budgets, and programmatic directions across hardware and software domains.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in space system development, systems engineering, structure/thermal design and analysis, avionics, power systems, propulsion, and related areas.
• Experience authoring mission and system-level requirements and creating technical content for proposals.
• Understanding of launch, space and lunar environments.
• Ability to work in an agile environment with Confluence and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review concepts and designs of lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
• Own development and technical content creation for mission opportunities and internal programs.
• Define system-level technical vision linking customer needs to feasible solutions across hardware and software.
• Perform trade studies to support technical, business, and program actions.
• Perform system-level analysis and first-order sizing of space systems.
• Develop and manage end-to-end system budgets, margin, and BOMs.
• Contribute to schedules, resourcing, and budget estimations.
• Decompose requirements and mission architecture into design tasks for engineers.
• Participate in visits and technical interchange meetings with customers and partners.
• Translate requirements into actionable product goals and architectures for proposals and stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to align engineering solutions with roadmap.
