Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to help shape the future of lunar technologies and missions. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, this role can be onsite or remote and involves defining end-to-end mission concepts for NASA, government, and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing complex mechanical systems at scale.
• Experience performing preliminary structural analysis of space systems.
• Experience in space system development, structures/thermal design, or manufacturing.
• Experience creating technical content for proposals and external presentations.
• Experience decomposing mission and system-level requirements.
• Strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review concepts and designs of lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
• Support development content for mission opportunities and internal programs.
• Perform system-level analysis and first-order sizing of space systems.
• Develop spacecraft configurations in CAD and conduct preliminary structural analysis.
• Design spacecraft structures for lunar landers, orbiters, and rovers.
• Perform preliminary mechanical design and analysis of structures and mechanisms.
• Develop payload and subsystem accommodations within a complex spacecraft.
• Contribute to schedules, resourcing, and budgets estimations.
• Coordinate with disciplines, partners, and customers to resolve risks.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to align solutions with roadmap.
• Develop trade studies and system-level technical vision for new products.
