Job summary

HarperCollins Christian Publishing seeks a highly organized Managing Editor to oversee production planning and data integrity for the Tommy Nelson division. The role interfaces with editorial, marketing, and creative teams across the company to streamline processes and meet budget expectations.

Preferred candidates will work hybrid in Nashville, TN or Grand Rapids, MI, with remote flexibility for highly qualified applicants. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of publishing processes, including production, scheduling, and financial management.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel required.
• Extensive project management and planning ability.
• Experience with RSuite, Global Works Tool, or similar platforms.
• Clear understanding of the Christian publishing industry and editorial practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Data Management & Integrity: Set up ISBNs, facilitate data updates, ensure data accuracy throughout product lifecycles.
• Project Management: Set up schedules in Asana; lead teams to timely deliverables and KPIs; liaison with editorial staff.
• Product Development: Collaborate with production on specs and pricing.
• Risk Management & Planning: Assess risks early; suggest adjustments to plans to meet needs.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Document production plans and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Process Optimization: Participate in Managing Editorial Meetings to improve workflow.
