Job summary

Erie Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Claims Supervisor for the Property Damage Department, based in our Knoxville/Brentwood area. The role oversees, trains, and evaluates assigned claims adjusters and support staff within an in-office setting.

You will coordinate with Leadership, review claims, ensure reserves, and participate in catastrophe team activities traveling as needed; a path to leadership is provided with opportunities for bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with six years of claims related experience; or associate degree with four years; or bachelor’s degree with two years.
• Experience using estimating software preferred.
• Experience in a leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages operations of designated area; interviews, hires, trains, directs personnel.
• Reviews claims for coverage and reserves; provides guidance and actions.
• Resolves coverage questions within authority; conducts necessary research.
• Maintains knowledge of adjusters' files and statutory laws.
• Assists Claims Manager; may act on manager’s behalf as needed.
• Receives and directs processing of legal papers; coordinates with outside counsel.
• Participates in trial preparation and related activities.
• Reviews reports and negotiates with salvage vendors when required.
• Contributes to projects and initiatives to support business strategy.
