Medicap Pharmacy LTC in Iowa City, IA is seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to join our Order Entry team. You will accurately enter new medication orders, process refills, and maintain patient medication profiles to ensure timely, safe delivery of medications in long-term care settings.

This on-site role starts with comprehensive training, with potential to work remotely based on performance. Candidates should have current Pharmacy Technician registration, strong computer and data entry

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician registration/certification (as required by state law).
• Pharmacy experience.
• Excellent computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter new medication orders into the pharmacy software.
• Process refill requests, medication changes, and new admissions promptly.
• Review orders for completeness and communicate with nurses and providers when clarification is needed.
• Maintain accurate patient medication profiles.
• Prioritize urgent medication orders to support patient care.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and faculty staff.
• Follow all state and federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA requirements, and company policies.
• Help maintain an organized, efficient workflow while contributing to a positive work environment.
