Job summary

Quarles & Brady LLP seeks an experienced Lateral Conflicts Analyst to process conflict-of-interest requests for lateral attorney candidates and other hires in a firm with multiple offices. The role supports conflicts clearance, analyzes reports for ethical issues, and collaborates with Conflicts Counsel, General Counsel's Office, and Recruiting.

The position involves documenting conflicts, researching affiliates and ownership structures, and creating screening memoranda for affected parties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of conflicts-of-interest experience at a mid-size or large law firm.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Create conflict reports identifying issues involving lateral attorneys and non-lawyer candidates.
  • Review lateral partner questionnaires and other applicant information for accuracy before uploading to conflicts database.
  • Support conflicts clearance with Conflicts Counsel, sponsoring attorneys, and Recruiting.
  • Conduct corporate research to identify affiliates, ownership structures, and business risks.
  • Coordinate communication between Recruiting and the General Counsel's Office.
  • Maintain organized candidate files and provide timely status updates.
  • Assist in onboarding and closing conflicts, including waivers or ethical screens.
