Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Corporate seeks an inpatient coder to review, analyze, and code hospital inpatient records, selecting ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS codes as applicable during ICD-10 transition. Primary responsibility is inpatient coding.

Requirements include a GED, AHIMA AHIMA-accredited coding certificate preferred, and 1 year of coding experience. Certifications like RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCP etc. are expected.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred
• 1 year of coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience is Preferred
• One or more certifications - RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CIC, CPC-A, CPC-H Required

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10.
• Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.
