Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Estimator/Cost Manager to lead the commercial interface on large construction programs in the SF Bay Area. Deliver cost management and forecasting, support design and construction, and ensure governance across complex, infrastructure-heavy campus projects.

Remote work is possible with strong on-site collaboration; proximity to the SF Bay Area is advantageous for local engagement with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant cost management or quantity surveying experience.
• Experience delivering cost management on medium to large, complex construction projects.
• Background in construction consultancy or client-side cost management preferred.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary day-to-day commercial interface with the client during design and construction.
• Provide cost planning, estimating, and forecasting services, including cost plans at design and construction milestones.
• Establish and maintain robust cost control, change management, and commercial governance processes.
• Estimate, review, negotiate, and manage change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Review contractor and subcontractor pricing for accuracy and value for money; lead negotiations as needed.
• Manage contingency, commitment tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, and cost variance analysis.
• Carry out post-contract quantity surveying, cost control, valuations, and payment certification.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial dashboards for client presentation.
• Coordinate cost data from GC submissions, subcontractor pricing, supplier inputs, and quantities.
