Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is seeking an Electrical Distribution Designer for the Transmission Practice in Green Bay, WI. The role focuses on safe, practical designs for new installations, relocations, and system improvements, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field personnel.

The position supports remote-friendly work with initial in-person onboarding and travel as needed. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in distribution line design and proficiency with common design

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and utility construction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other Design Software.
• Strong ownership, written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to make decisions with guidance in accordance with established policies and procedures and use initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify DEA's Cultural Drivers internally and externally.
• Design projects that will maintain and support various electrical utility systems by designing and creating detailed drawings, specifications, staking, site walk-downs, construction support, bill of materials, and cost estimates for distribution systems.
• Collaborate with team members in an open communication culture, providing support in various disciplines as needed, including surveying, environmental, permitting, project management, and engineering.
• Perform electrical system modeling and analysis. Prepare written reports and information related to analysis.
• Help ensure that designed electrical facilities meet NEC, NESC, RUS and Cooperative and Specific utility standards.
• Develop the project understanding, approach, and work plan.
• Manage communications among the project team and client.
• Maintain the technical quality, knowledge, and expertise of the work.
• Implement the project QA/QC plan.
• Some travel for project execution may be required.
