Job summary

Urban Institute is seeking a Development Associate (Individual Fundraising) to support donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising initiatives. You will work with Development leadership to coordinate engagement activities for donors and trustees, research prospects, manage communications, and help with donor meetings.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and 3–4 years in fundraising or related work, with strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3–4 years in fundraising/nonprofit development or related internship/volunteer work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive materials.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support donor engagement strategies and stewardship for priority prospects and donors.
• Coordinate communications and meeting materials for trustees and executives.
• Assist in planning and executing donor meetings, solicitations, and engagement initiatives.
• Maintain donor and campaign records in Salesforce and prepare performance reports.
