Job summary

Urban Institute is seeking a Development Associate (Individual Fundraising) to support donor engagement, portfolio management, and fundraising initiatives with individual donors and trustees. You will work closely with senior leadership to coordinate outreach, research prospects, and manage donor relations in Salesforce.

The role emphasizes relationship stewardship, strategic planning, and collaboration across departments to advance fundraising priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–4 years of relevant professional fundraising experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support donor engagement and cultivate priority prospects and donors.
• Manage donor relationships, stewardship, and engagement activities.
• Research prospects and provide strategic recommendations for cultivation and solicitation.
• Maintain donor records in Salesforce and produce performance reports.
• Coordinate donor communications, meetings, and executive correspondence.
• Support trustee engagement and fundraising initiatives.
• Plan and manage donor events, including the Board Dinner.
