Job summary

Washington State Department of Ecology is seeking a Cashiering and Fees Manager (WMS Band 1) to oversee revenue collection, daily cash deposits, and fee receivables in the Financial Services Division, based in Lacey, WA with telework options and required in-office days.

You will lead a team of fiscal analysts, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and coordinate invoicing, policies, and cross-agency financial operations.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of supervising or leading fiscal positions.
• Thorough knowledge of state accounting systems, laws, policies, and procedures for fiscal and administrative issues, including federal laws.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff and present complex financial material.
• Experience in process development/improvement and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Guide invoicing and collection processes and administer applicable laws, regulations, rules, and policies.
• Provide expert-level consultation and technical support to agency programs for revenue collection and fee receivables.
• Oversee compliance with federal and state requirements related to multimillion-dollar loan programs.
• Supervise and direct a team of fiscal analysts providing revenue and collection services.
• Manage cashiering, revenue tracking, billing systems, accounts receivable, and collections for fees.
• Support development of agency policies for receivables and revenue collection.
