Job summary

Vannevar is hiring a Backend Engineer for the Security Platform, focused on identity and access management across products. This role is remote-eligible in the United States, with a mission to secure the platform and enable scalable customer workflows.

You will join a small, agile team of engineers and mission strategists, shaping authentication, authorization, and IAM data models while partnering with compliance and security partners to raise the bar on security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with IAM systems.
• Strong system design skills with tradeoffs across performance, reliability, and cost.
• Led cross-team technical initiatives and adoption.
• Security-first mindset for sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive implementation and evolution of core platform permission infrastructure and shared services.
• Lead projects to build and scale foundational platform auth capabilities.
• Partner with engineers to develop standardized security platform solutions.
• Collaborate with compliance and stakeholders to define access control standards.
• Influence architecture and engineering standards across the company.
• Grow engineering skills by solving high-impact security platform problems.
