Job summary

University of Texas at Dallas seeks an Accountant II to support fiscal operations for the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, ensuring compliance and accurate accounting across departments. Responsibilities include account maintenance, reconciliations, billing, and budget analysis.

The role reports to the Financial Analyst and contributes to financial planning and decision-making with data insights and external revenue management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Two years experience in governmental or commercial accounting.
• 1-3 years in finance or accounting with analytics, forecasting, and project management experience preferred.
• 3-5 years using PeopleSoft Financials.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and computation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex financial reports for forecasting and trend analysis.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations with summary reports.
• Submit ECS Graduate Scholarships and maintain guideline updates.
• Process internal billing for monthly Service Center usage.
• Track collections and accounts receivable for external sales invoices.
• Manage cash handling and gift deposits.
• Review encumbrances for PO close-out.
• Research procurement and other financial issues to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain internal controls for university resources.
