Job summary

Municipal Pooling Authority seeks an Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll processing, GL maintenance, and bank reconciliations. The role reports to the Finance Manager who oversees accounting activities.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in governmental accounting and audits. Hybrid work option available, with generous benefits and retirement through CalPERS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Public Administration with accounting emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly/annual financial reports for review by Finance Manager.
• Assist during annual audits and prepare audit schedules.
• Process payroll for Finance Manager approval.
• Handle full accounting cycle including AP, AR, billing, deposits, payroll, and month-end/ year-end close.
