Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field.
• Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; a master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Three years of experience working in a college or university admission, advising, evaluations, registrar, or other student service-related office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic advising to current, prospective, and former students and graduation candidates through individual, group, virtual, phone, and email interactions.
• Guide students in understanding degree requirements, General Education, graduation requirements, academic policies, and progress toward degree completion.
• Counsel academically at-risk students and those experiencing barriers to degree progress, developing strategies and connecting them with appropriate resources.
• Interpret academic records, degree evaluations, and university policies to address complex student situations and recommend appropriate courses of action.
• Collaborate with colleagues and campus partners to develop and enhance Center for Student Success programs, resources, and advising services.
