Jefferson County Human Services is seeking a Call Center Associate Eligibility Specialist to assist individuals and families with Medicaid, SNAP, and other benefits. You will answer questions, explain required documents, and guide customers through applications and renewals with compassionate, professional service.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, clear written communication, and collaboration with the team in a busy, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in high-volume customer service or call center preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Experience determining eligibility for public assistance programs such as Medicaid and SNAP.
• Experience using CBMS or similar systems to verify eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Answer high-volume inbound calls regarding public assistance programs.
• Review CBMS and other systems to provide eligibility information.
• Triage customer needs and route calls or schedule appointments.
• Educate customers on program requirements and required documents.
• Document customer interactions clearly in county systems.
• Provide empathetic, trauma-informed service in a fast-paced call center.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely service.
