Job summary

Air Education Inc. — Air Reading hires remote tutors to deliver structured, small-group reading lessons to elementary students across the United States. Sessions run Monday–Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, with each session 30–40 minutes for groups of up to four students; compensation is up to $24 per hour.

Tutors receive a curriculum, coaching, and professional development; authorization to work in the US required; remote role excludes California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States and reside in the US.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, engaging small-group reading lessons via Zoom for groups of up to four elementary students, following provided curriculum.
• Maintain instructional fidelity to structured literacy and Science of Reading approaches.
• Administer routine assessments, record results, monitor student progress, and document outcomes.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback to students and school partners to support growth.
• Create and sustain a positive, orderly virtual learning environment.
• Participate in required training, curriculum orientation, and periodic coaching.
• Maintain professional communication and reliability regarding scheduling and session prep.

Employment type and schedule: Contract, remote (must be located in and authorized to work in the United States). Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California. Flexible teaching opportunities Monday–Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Session length: Typically 30–40 minutes per small-group lesson (up to four students). Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, engaging small-group reading lessons via Zoom for groups of up to four elementary students, following provided step-by-step curriculum and lesson plans.
• Maintain instructional fidelity to structured literacy and Science of Reading approaches.
• Administer routine assessments, record results, monitor student progress, and document outcomes using established tools and reporting procedures.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback to students and school partners to support student growth.
• Create and sustain a positive, orderly virtual learning environment that promotes student engagement and on-task behavior.
• Participate in required training, curriculum orientation, and periodic coaching to ensure consistent instructional quality.
• Maintain professional communication and reliability with regard to scheduling, attendance, and session preparation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Authorization to work in the United States and residence within the United States.
• Proficiency with Zoom and common digital teaching tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with elementary-aged students.
• Dependability in meeting scheduled sessions and maintaining professional standards in a remote instructional setting.

Preferred Qualifications (not Required)

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Degree or coursework in education, literacy, English, or a related field.
• Experience teaching early reading, phonics, or K–3 instruction and familiarity with structured literacy methods.
