Job summary

Air Reading is seeking qualified online reading instructors to deliver structured, evidence-based instruction to elementary students. This remote contract role offers flexible hours within Pacific Time windows and pays up to $24 per hour.

Instructors will use Air Reading’s curriculum and Zoom to reach small groups of up to four students. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree, authorization to work in the United States, and strong communication skills to engage young learners online.

• Deliver structured, engaging online reading instruction via Zoom using Air Reading’s curriculum.
• Follow step-by-step lesson plans while maintaining fidelity to structured literacy and Science of Reading principles.
• Monitor and document student progress using established assessment and reporting tools.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback that supports student learning and growth.
• Create a positive, orderly virtual classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
• Collaborate with Air Reading’s instructional team and school partners as needed.

Position Summary

• Employment type: Contract, remote
• Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California.
• Schedule: Flexible teaching opportunities Monday–Friday, between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
• Compensation: Up to $24/hour
• Session length: Typically 30–40 minutes per small-group lesson
• Group size: Up to four elementary students

Preferred Qualifications

These Qualifications Are Valued But Are Not Required.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Degree or coursework in education, literacy, English, or a related field.
• Experience teaching early reading, phonics, or K–3 students.
• Familiarity with structured literacy and Science of Reading approaches.
