Job summary

Brightsmith is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership for utility-scale BESS and solar projects. The role focuses on delivering robust electrical design, coordination with external EPCs, and ensuring compliance with codes and permitting requirements.

You will oversee MV collection systems, HV substations, transmission, protection and controls, SCADA, and interconnection while guiding development, procurement, construction, and operations teams to successful

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
10+ years in electrical power systems.
Senior-level leadership experience.
Experience with utilities, substations, transmission, solar, BESS, EPCs or IPPs.
PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering for utility-scale BESS and solar projects.
Oversee MV collection systems, HV substations, transmission, protection & controls, SCADA, and interconnection.
Manage external engineering consultants and EPC partners.
Review engineering deliverables, technical specifications, and project designs.
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout project execution.
Coordinate with development, procurement, construction, and operations teams.
Ensure projects meet applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
